The Flash

The Sun flame broiled the Earth. Some of the strikes seem random and not all land was scorched by the Sun. However, most bodies of water were evaporated and nearly all plant life and anything living that did not take shelter was turned to ash. Many were drawn out by the beautiful lights of The Flash which resulted in their subsequent deaths.

Anything that was made of wood was likely burnt to the ground.

The aftermath of The Flash is a toxic wasteland that is world wide as far as Jackson knows. Most technology that is not locally managed (generators for electricity) no longer works. The majority of people did not survive the aftermath. The Flash created a zombie-like disease and those infected are called "Bagmen". They have an aversion to sun and seem to be dried out. Many assume that they are hemophagics but the better explanation is that they are thirsty for anything and humans are walking bags of water. If you do not die from a bagman's attack the disease will either kill you or turn you.

The Arcana and Game

The Tah Ro was a game created by Isis in which gods from realms sent representatives to play a game. Each god or goddess endowed their contestant with a special power. The point of the game was to kill other contestants which would farm their emblem and reflect upon the victors skin.

At the end, the one who held all the emblems, all the cards, was the victor. They were granted immortality until the next games. Aric Dominija, the Death card has been the victor for millennia. In the first games he had been wed to the Empress and throughout games has continually been seduced and betrayed by her.

The Flash was the commencement of the newest round of games. .

Aric "Death" Dominija

Death is the the one and only victor of all the games that have been played. He holds all the memories from the time of his birth over 2000 years ago from present day. His existence is long and lonely and he resents his immortality and the games almost as much as he despises himself for consistently falling for the Empress game after game.

In the newest round of games he is determined not to be seduced and to carry out her death mercilessly.

Death's closest allies are the Centurion, Strength, Priestess and Devil. He has made sure to ally himself with them before the start of the games. Death almost always wears lightweight armor head to toe with spiked gloves. He prefers to fight with long swords but a scythe is his icon. Death's touch is fatal. He killed his parents before he understood what power had manifested in him and the memory haunts him to this day.

The only known person he is able to touch without killing is the Empress.

In present time, before the Flash, he was a billionaire recluse who took over a Cold War Storage facility to make his castle, Lethe Castle. He has underground greenhouse and a large menagerie among a plethora of supplies he amassed over several centuries.
